'Beat' Takeshi (right) is the owner of the castle. To protect it from Tani's attacks, he sets up games in the castle grounds in an attempt to stop the army of contestants getting any closer. Contestants have to beat him in the final 'Show Down' to win.

Takeshi wasn't able to appear on the show from episode 31 to episode 55, so instead the Takeshi Doll took his place.

Takeshi in the 'Unaired Pilot'[]

According to some photos featured in a magazine, Takeshi was supposed to lead the contestants to battle in order to take back his castle. Furthermore, the original story of Takeshi's Castle is that he was a wealthy count of a land that was until Hayato Tani (General Lee) alongside with Junji Inagawa overthrew him and is up to Takeshi to take back his castle.

However, in the 2013 interview with Hayato Tani, he states that the story didn't end up well. So they decided to swap roles which is now the known story and plot of the show.

Personality[]

Count Takeshi is described as an evil count who wants to rule the land. He sets up games and challenges in order to stop anyone who wants to take his castle of defeat. Tv Tropes also mentioned that he has done a lot of evil schemes but this was unseen and not proven.

In the first episode, he is somehow portrayed arrogant count and he was shocked to see his citizens (contestants) rebelling. He also tends to relay mostly on his guards (particularly to, Saburo) to do his dirty work and blames him when the contestants gets through to his games. He is also tends to act silly at times and would not get what Saburo's explanation about the game. However, he is easily annoyed when Saburo calls him an 'old man' and threatens to kill him.

When the a few contestants managed to reach the castle, he tries to run away and hide but Saburo drags him not to hide and join him in the fight against the contestants. When all the contestants are defeated and retreats, he laughs maniacally and taunts the retreating Tani and the contestants and says that he will be always ready for them.

As the show progresses, Takeshi seems to have grew tolerance with Tani's attacks and tries to take it easy. He even hands over the 1 Million Yen prize to the winner but tries to take it back (Although, Tani stops him). When Higashi becomes his new advisor, he loves to use Higashi as his 'Guinea Pig' in some of the sketches and would hit him in the head just for the slightest mistake. This also applies to the rest of his guards.
